Dance
Conchita’s elite middle school Dance Advisory meets daily to practice and train under the direction of the experienced and talented, Ms. Danella Bedford. This advisory focuses on technique and becoming stronger dancers. They have traveled and performed in London, England, New York, New York, Gainesville, and Orlando, Florida. They have won very prestigious awards in many competitions and they also participate in various shows throughout the year.
Public Relations and CTV
Conchita’s Public Relations and CTV have merged to report all that is extraordinary in our school. Journalists are constantly creating, learning and gathering information about the school and then transferring it into film to broadcast and share. Students are also responsible for our lectures series “Café at Conchita” and its guests. Under the direction of Mrs. Santalo and Ms. Elisabela Vals, students create and maintain an online media website and blog. Students create, produce and edit their daily news casts, send press releases to community newspapers. They write and edit the news blurbs and are responsible for the videos and pictures for their stories. Our journalists are always ready for any special assignments.
Conchita Magazine
Ms. Jackson created Conchita Magazine as a work of love. It was the first of many wonderful advisories. It is a student publication in which articles, advertisement sales, and planning are all coordinated and executed by the students. They also do in house fund raising to help cover some expenses. Conchita is looking forward to more wonderful issues.
Conchita Magazine Biz
Conchita Magazine Biz is teaming up with Conchita Magazine to work on making successful magazines for the school. They will be dealing with the business parts such as advertisements and fund raisers. Students will also learn tools that they can learn in their future like how to run a successful business and how to work well with others.
Art
Ms. Vazquez guides these gifted artists daily to create wonderful masterpieces and enhance our school through visual arts! The students learn to tap into their creativity and imagination to make beautiful artwork.
Future Teachers
Tomorrow’s leaders start making a difference today. Middle school students in Future Teachers help with filing and being role models to some of the younger grades. Students in the Office Assistant Advisory help with the clerical responsibilities of the administration. They are learning wonderful tools to use in their future.
Voice
Conchita’s middle school voice always makes beautiful music under the direction of its choir director, Ms. Loly Lopez. Conchita’s choir has been invited and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York and also in a number of prestigious locations in Puerto Rico. They are looking forward to another melodious year!
Track
Coach Carlos trains his Cougars to be great runners and to strive to do their best. Students practice everyday and compete in local and statewide track meets.
Yearbook
Ms. Gonzalez and her crew are working hard all year long to produce our beautiful yearbook, Legado. Students are responsible for pictures and layout design of the entire yearbook. It truly is a work of love and a wonderful legacy for our Conchita family.
Theater
Under the guidance of Mr. Kessler, our future actors train and perform. Mr. Kessler brings much valuable insight from his previous work experience in New York.
STEAM
With the help of Mrs. Hastings and Mrs. Ramos, students will learn how to use the many inventions in our ever growing technology. They will also learn the parts of the computer, how to reverse engineer a computer, and how to code.
